The Apple IIc was my very first computer. My mother bought me a Apple IIc back in 1985, and this was the computer I learned to program on. I played my first computer games on this system. The Apple II came with Basic which was a programming language, and it had a large library of software you could run on it. The bad thing about it was the poor graphics and the sound was monotone. Meaning, only one tone played. It was better than the Atari 2600, but it was many times worse than other 8 bit video game consoles and computers. The Commodore 64 was much better than the Apple IIc/IIe, it had better sound, and better graphics overall compared to the Apple IIc/IIe. In most schools, you had Apple II computers with monochrome monitors, because Apple corporation gave schools a discount to buy their computers.
As for the emulator, it was initially released back in 1994, but it was updated through the years. It is from my experience pretty stable, and it plays a lot of Apple IIc or Apple IIe games and applications. You can even use Apple Basic to write simple programs. I was able to get it running and ran Rescue Raiders by Sirtech which was one of my most favorite games for the Apple IIc.
