The PCEM emulator can only emulate up to Pentium 300 MMX, and that is the limitation of that emulator.
However, you can emulate up to Pentium II 450 slot one based processor with the 86Box emulator which
is a fork of PCEM. You will need a very fast processor to emulate it, or you will not be able to run
much of anything on it. I tried using a Intel I7-4790k based processor on 86Box with a Pentium II 300
to Pentium II 450, and it was extremely slow.

If you have a fast enough processor to emulate a Pentium II 450, you will be able to pretty much every
game from 1997 to 1999. If you want to run games from 2000 to 2005, you can get a Pentium IV based
computer, and these computers are widely available on Ebay and other sites. They are also very
inexpensive to purchase.

PCEM V.17 Setup Tutorial Pentium 2 Slot 1 + Voodoo 3 2000 with Existing HDD Image

PCEM V.17 has a lot of new hardware support, like Pentium 2 slot 1 CPU, and Pentium Pro CPU support.
It has new graphics card supports, like the 3dfx Voodoo 3 2000 16 MB, 3dfx Voodoo 3 2000,
and 3dfx Voodoo Banshee. A number of bugs were ironed out as well. The setup is the same as
the previous versions of PCEM; however, you must get the BIOS for the new hardware,
and put them in the right folders.

If you wish to use a ready made hard drive image then you don't have to partition the hard drive,
or format it. That has already already been done with the hard drive images you can download below.
However, you do still have to run Windows 98 startup disk to install Windows 95 or Windows 98.
You need to get the following
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

You also need the driver files for the video cards.

Get all the BIOS rom files from your previous version of PCEM, and copy it into the PCEM V.17 folder.
In addition, put the new BIOS files for the new hardware in there too.

After you have done all that, start PCEM V.17.
1. Create a new virtual machine.
2. Go into setup.
3. Setup the CPU chipset to GA-686BX, there you will be able to enable the Pentium 2 slot 1 processors.
4. Setup the graphics card. You can select the Voodoo 3 2000 or Voodoo 3 3000 video cards. Do not enable Voodoo below.
5. Set the soundcard.
6. Set the mouse.
7. Select and set the hard drive image.
       ◙ 2 GB image settings:
             • Sectors 63, Heads 16, and Cylinders 4160
       ◙ 4 GB image settings:
             • Sectors 63, Heads 16, and Cylinders 8319
8. Exit after you finish.
9. Start PCEM
10. Windows 98 will attempt to install all drivers. Make sure you have the Windows 98 ISO file or CD with you.
It may ask for some files from the Win98 disk.
11. After Windows has finished installing all the drivers, it will restart the computer.
12. Insert the drivers for the video card (Voodoo 3 2000/Voodoo 3 2000). The file will be a ISO image, so you can
read directly from the ISO file.
13. When Windows 98 starts up go to my computer, and click on the CD-ROM drive. Then, precede to install the
graphics driver After it is finished, it will ask you to restart the computer.
14. When the computer reboots. Go into settings, control panel, and display to change the resolution.
15. Go to settings, system, and device settings to see if everything is there, like the graphics card, and CPU.
If everything is there then you did everything successfully.

PCEM V13.1 Windows 98 and Drive Installation Tutorial with Ready Made Hard Drive Image

This tutorial a little different from the PCEM V11.1 tutorial videos I
made previously. In this video, you don't have to create a hard drive
image. You can simply download the hard drive image on my website, and
just install Windows 95 or Windows 98 on it.

This video shows you how to configure PCEM to run Windows 95 or Windows
98; however, you will need a powerful computer to run this program. It is
a CPU/Processor intensive program, because it emulates every CPU cycle of
the CPU being emulated. I suggest you use a 3rd generation I5 or higher
desktop processor to run this emulator, or the performance may be a bit
sluggish.
